The Dead Arose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDCECCFGHG

The dead arose Long had they dreamedA
Deep in the grass of the still graveB
Of meeting their beloved once moreC
They knocked at each familiar doorC
They waited eagerly to seeD
The old loved faces at the doorC
They waited for a voice to sayE
The same old words it said beforeC
They knocked at each familiar doorC
But no one answered to the deadF
No voice of welcome no kind wordG
Only a little flower came outH
And one small elegiac birdG
