Shadow Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDA EFBFBE GHIHIG JKLKMJ NOPOPN OOOOOO

When leaf and flower are newly madeA
And bird and butterfly and beeB
Are at their summer posts againC
When all is ready lo 'tis sheB
Suddenly there after soft rainD
The deep lashed dryad of the shadeA
-
Shadow the fairest gift of JuneE
Gone like the rose the winter throughF
Save in the ribbed anatomyB
Of ebon line the moonlight drewF
Stark on the snow of tower or treeB
Like letters of a dead man's runeE
-
Dew breathing shade all summer liesG
In the cool hollow of thy breastH
Thou moth winged creature darkly fairI
The very sun steals down to restH
Within thy swaying tendrilled hairI
And forest flicker of thine eyesG
-
Made of all shapes that flit and swayJ
And mass and scatter in the breezeK
And meet and part open and closeL
Thou sister of the clouds and treesK
Thou daintier phantom of the roseM
Thou nun of the hot and honeyed dayJ
-
Misdeemed art thou of those who holdN
Darkness thy soul thy dwelling placeO
Night and its stars nay all of lightP
Wert though begot all flowers thy faceO
And hushed in thee all colours brightP
Hide from the noon their blue and goldN
-
Thy voice the song of hidden rillsO
The sigh deep bosomed silence heavesO
From the full heart of happy thingsO
The lap of water lily leavesO
The noiseless language of the wingsO
Of evening making strange the hillsO
