Rhyme Scheme: AABACCBB DDEED FFGGF HHIIJJJH

May is building her house With apple bloomsA
She is roofing over the glimmering roomsA
Of the oak and the beech hath she builded its beamsB
And spinning all day at her secret loomsA
With arras of leaves each wind swayed wallC
She pictureth over and peopleth it allC
With echoes and dreamsB
And singing of streamsB
-
May is building her house Of petal and bladeD
Of the roots of the oak is the flooring madeD
With a carpet of mosses and lichen and cloverE
Each small miracle over and overE
And tender traveling green things strayedD
-
Her windows the morning and evening starF
And her rustling doorways ever ajarF
With the coming and goingG
Of fair things blowingG
The thresholds of the four winds areF
-
May is building her house From the dust of thingsH
She is making the songs and the flowers and the wingsH
From October's tossed and trodden goldI
She is making the young year out of the oldI
Yea out of winter's flying sleetJ
She is making all the summer sweetJ
And the brown leaves spurned of November's feetJ
She is changing back again to spring'sH
