Cor Cordium - O Golden Day! O Silver Night! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GDHD

O golden day O silver nightA
That brought my own true love at lastB
Ah wilt thou drop from out our sightA
And drown within the pastB
-
One wave no more in life's wide seaC
One little nameless crest of foamD
The day that gave her all to meC
And brought us to our homeD
-
Nay rather as the morning growsE
In flush and gleam and kingly rayF
While up the heaven the sun god goesE
So shall ascend our dayF
-
And when at last the long night nearsG
And love grows angel in the gloamD
Nay sweetheart what of fears and tearsH
The stars shall see us homeD
