An Inscription Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFG HHII

Precious the box that Mary brakeA
Of spikenard for her Master's sakeA
But ah it held nought half so dearB
As the sweet dust that whitens hereC
The greater wonder who shall sayD
To make so white a soul of clayD
From clay to win a face so fairE
Those strange great eyes that sunlit hairE
A ripple o'er her witty brainF
Or turn all back to dust againG
-
Who knows but in some happy hourH
The God whose strange alchemic powerH
Wrought her of dust again may turnI
To woman this immortal urnI
