A Rainy Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBCC DDDEEFFGGHH HIJKILLFMNNOOPQMF

The beauty of this rainy dayA
All silver green and dripping grayA
Has stolen quite my heart awayA
From all the tasks I meant to doB
Made me forget the resolute blueB
And energetic gold of thingsC
So soft a song the rain bird singsC
-
Yet am I glad to miss awhileD
The sun's huge domineering smileD
The busy spaces mile on mileD
Shut in behind this shimmering screenE
Of falling pearls and phantom greenE
As in a cloister walled with rainF
Safe from intrusions voices vainF
And hurry of invading feetG
Inviolate in my retreatG
Myself my books my pipe my fireH
So runs my rainy day desireH
-
Or I old letters may con o'erH
And dream on faces seen no moreI
The buried treasure of the yearsJ
Too visionary now for tearsK
Open old cupboards and exploreI
Sometimes for an old sweetheart's sakeL
A delicate romantic acheL
Sometimes a swifter pang of painF
To read old tenderness againM
As though the ink were scarce yet dryN
And She still She and I still IN
What if I were to write as thoughO
Her letter came an hour agoO
An hour ago This post mark saysP
But out upon these rainy daysQ
Come tie the packet up againM
The sun is back enough of rainF
