| and I allow death to capture me in its embrace | B |
| The colossal beast with impenetrable armour | C |
| standing over me like an immense tower | C |
| He roars with laughter putting me in my misery | D |
| I should have never crossed his territory | D |
| I tremble at the monster that I see | D |
| Wishing that the Lord could come and save me | D |

| But as Goliath roars with laughter | C |
| I begin to laugh but much louder | C |
| Because King David passed on long ago | E |
| and he had killed this beast long before I know | E |
| I begin to realise that the Goliath who brings me so much terror | C |
| is merely the tiny girl i see in the mirror | C |
