Rex Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDECF GCGC

The bard and mystic held me for their ownA
I filled the dream of sad poetic maidsB
I took the friendly noble by the handC
I was the trustee of the hand cart manD
The brother of the fisher porter swainE
And these from the crowd's edge well pleased beheldC
The service done to me as done to themF

With the key of the secret he marches fasterG
From strength to strength and for night brings dayC
While classes or tribes too weak to masterG
The flowing conditions of life give wayC
