Nemesis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFFGGHH

Already blushes in thy cheekA
The bosom thought which thou must speakA
The bird how far it haply roamB
By cloud or isle is flying homeB
The maiden fears and fearing runsC
Into the charmed snare she shunsC
And every man in love or prideD
Of his fate is never wideD
-
Will a woman's fan the ocean smoothE
Or prayers the stony Parcae soothE
Or coax the thunder from its markF
Or tapers light the chaos darkF
In spite of Virtue and the MuseG
Nemesis will have her duesG
And all our struggles and our toilsH
Tighter wind the giant coilsH
