Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IHHH JKLK HHMH NOHO HPQP

Of Paradise O hermit wiseA
Let us renounce the thoughtB
Of old therein our names of sinC
Allah recorded notD
-
Who dear to God on earthly sodE
No corn grain plantsF
The same is glad that life is hadG
Though corn he wantsH
-
Thy mind the mosque and cool kioskI
Spare fast and orisonsH
Mine me allows the drink houseH
And sweet chase of the nunsH
-
O just fakeer with brow austereJ
Forbid me not the vineK
On the first day poor Hafiz clayL
Was kneaded up with wineK
-
He is no dervise Heaven slights his serviceH
Who shall refuseH
There in the banquet to pawn his blanketM
For Schiraz's juiceH
-
Who his friend's shirt or hem of his shirtN
Shall spare to pledgeO
To him Eden's bliss and Angel's kissH
Shall want their edgeO
-
Up Hafiz grace from high God's faceH
Beams on thee pureP
Shy then not hell and trust thou wellQ
Heaven is secureP
