You Who Never Arrived Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMN OPQRNSTUIVWXE

You who never arrivedA
in my arms Beloved who were lostB
from the startC
I don't even know what songsD
would please you I have given up tryingE
to recognize you in the surging wave ofF
the next moment All the immenseG
images in me the far off deeply feltH
landscape cities towers and bridges andI
unsuspected turns in the pathJ
and those powerful lands that were onceK
pulsing with the life of the godsL
all rise within me to meanM
you who forever elude meN
-
You Beloved who are allO
the gardens I have ever gazed atP
longing An open windowQ
in a country house and you almostR
stepped out pensive to meet meN
Streets that I chanced uponS
you had just walked down them and vanishedT
And sometimes in a shop the mirrorsU
were still dizzy with your presence andI
startled gave back my too sudden imageV
Who knows Perhaps the sameW
bird echoed through both of usX
yesterday separate in the eveningE
