The Apple Orchard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPN QRSK

Come let us watch the sun go downA
and walk in twilight through the orchard's greenB
Does it not seem as if we had for longC
collected saved and harbored within usD
old memories To find releases and seekE
new hopes remembering half forgotten joysF
mingled with darkness coming from withinG
as we randomly voice our thoughts aloudH
wandering beneath these harvest laden treesI
reminiscent of Durer woodcuts branchesJ
which bent under the fully ripened fruitK
wait patiently trying to outlast toL
serve another season's hundred days of toilM
straining uncomplaining by not breakingN
but succeeding even though the burdenO
should at times seem almost past enduranceP
Not to falter Not to be found wantingN
-
Thus must it be when willingly you striveQ
throughout a long and uncomplaining lifeR
committed to one goal to give yourselfS
And silently to grow and to bear fruitK
