Sunset Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IGJK

Slowly the west reaches for clothes of new colorsA
which it passes to a row of ancient treesB
You look and soon these two worlds both leave youC
one part climbs toward heaven one sinks to earthD
-
leaving you not really belonging to eitherE
not so hopelessly dark as that house that is silentF
not so unswervingly given to the eternal as that thingG
that turns to a star each night and climbsH
-
leaving you it is impossible to untangle the threadsI
your own life timid and standing high and growingG
so that sometimes blocked in sometimes reaching outJ
one moment your life is a stone in you and the next a starK
