Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBC CEFBGH IJJC

Come thou thou last one whom I recognizeA
unbearable pain throughout this body's fabricB
as I in my spirit burned see I now burn in theeC
the wood that long resisted the advancing flamesD
which thou kept flaring I now am nourishinigB
and burn in theeC
-
My gentle and mild being through thy ruthless furyC
has turned into a raging hell that is not from hereE
Quite pure quite free of future planning I mountedF
the tangled funeral pyre built for my sufferingB
so sure of nothing more to buy for future needsG
while in my heart the stored reserves kept silentH
-
Is it still I who there past all recognition burnI
Memories I do not seize and bring insideJ
O life O living O to be outsideJ
And I in flames And no one here who knows meC
