Along The Sun-drenched Roadside Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHI JKL

Along the sun drenched roadside from the greatA
hollow half treetrunk which for generationsB
has been a trough renewing in itselfC
an inch or two of rain I satisfyD
my thirst taking the water's pristine coolnessE
into my whole body through my wristsF
Drinking would be too powerful too clearG
but this unhurried gesture of restraintH
fills my whole consciousness with shining waterI
-
Thus if you came I could be satisfiedJ
to let my hand rest lightly for a momentK
lightly upon your shoulder or your breastL
