Where Shadow Chases Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFG HIJ KL

This is my delightA
thus to wait and watch at the waysideB
where shadow chases lightA
and the rain comes in the wake of the summerC
-
Messengers with tidings from unknown skiesD
greet me and speed along the roadE
My heart is glad withinF
and the breath of the passing breeze is sweetG
-
From dawn till dusk I sit here before my doorH
and I know that of a suddenI
the happy moment will arrive when I shall seeJ
-
In the meanwhile I smile and I sing all aloneK
In the meanwhile the air is filling with the perfume of promiseL
