The Golden Boat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDA EFGHE IDJKI LMNML OPQQP RSDBR

Clouds rumbling in the sky teeming rainA
I sit on the river bank sad and aloneB
The sheaves lie gathered harvest has endedC
The river is swollen and fierce in its flowD
As we cut the paddy it started to rainA
-
One small paddy field no one but meE
Flood waters twisting and swirling everywhereF
Trees on the far bank smear shadows like inkG
On a village painted on deep morning greyH
On this side a paddy field no one but meE
-
Who is this steering close to the shoreI
Singing I feel that she is someone I knowD
The sails are filled wide she gazes aheadJ
Waves break helplessly against the boat each sideK
I watch and feel I have seen her face beforeI
-
Oh to what foreign land do you sailL
Come to the bank and moor your boat for a whileM
Go where you want to give where you care toN
But come to the bank a moment show your smileM
Take away my golden paddy when you sailL
-
Take it take as much as you can loadO
Is there more No none I have put it aboardP
My intense labour here by the riverQ
I have parted with it all layer upon layerQ
Now take me as well be kind take me aboardP
-
No room no room the boat is too smallR
Loaded with my gold paddy the boat is fullS
Across the rain sky clouds heave to and froD
On the bare river bank I remain aloneB
What had has gone the golden boat took allR
