The Gardener Xxxviii: My Love, Once Upon A Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPD

My love once upon a time your poetA
launched a great epic in his mindB
Alas I was not careful and it struckC
your ringing anklets and came toD
griefE
It broke up into scraps of songs andF
lay scattered at your feetG
All my cargo of the stories of oldH
wars was tossed by the laughing wavesI
and soaked in tears and sankJ
You must make this loss good to meK
my loveL
If my claims to immortal fame afterM
death are scattered make me immortalN
while I liveO
And I will not mourn for my loss norP
blame youD
