The Gardener Xlvi: You Left Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIGJKLMFNOKPQ RGSFTUVWXCIYDF

You left me and went on your wayA
I thought I should mourn for youB
and set your solitary image in myC
heart wrought in a golden songD
But ah my evil fortune time isE
shortF
Youth wanes year after year theG
spring days are fugitive the frailH
flowers die for nothing and the wiseI
man warns me that life is but aG
dewdrop on the lotus leafJ
Should I neglect all this to gaze afterK
one who has turned her back on meL
That would be rude and foolishM
for time is shortF
Then come my rainy nights withN
pattering feet smile my goldenO
autumn come careless April scatterK
ing your kisses abroadP
You come and you and you alsoQ
My loves you know we are mortalsR
Is it wise to break one's heart for theG
one who takes her heart away ForS
time is shortF
It is sweet to sit in a corner to museT
and write in rhymes that you are allU
my worldV
It is heroic to hug one's sorrow andW
determine not to be consoledX
But a fresh face peeps across myC
door and raise its eyes to my eyesI
I cannot but wipe away my tearsY
and change the tune of my songD
For time is shortF
