The Gardener Xliv: Reverend Sir, Forgive Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKGLCMNOJPQ RSTUFMGGV

Reverend sir forgive this pair ofA
sinners Spring winds to day areB
blowing in wild eddies driving dustC
and dead leaves away and with themD
your lessons are all lostE
Do not say father that life is aF
vanityG
For we have made truce with deathH
for once and only for a few fragrantI
hours we two have been made immortalJ
Even if the king's army came andK
fiercely fell upon us we should sadlyG
shake our heads and say BrothersL
you are disturbing us If you mustC
have this noisy game go and clatterM
your arms elsewhere Since only forN
a few fleeting moments we have beenO
made immortalJ
If friendly people came and flockedP
around us we should humbly bow toQ
them and say This extravagant goodR
fortune is an embarrassment to usS
Room is scarce in the infinite skyT
where we dwell For in the springU
time flowers come in crowds and theF
busy wings of bees jostle each otherM
Our little heaven where dwell onlyG
we two immortals is too absurdlyG
narrowV
