Rhyme Scheme: AB BA CB DE FG HI

O thou the last fulfilment of lifeA
Death my death come and whisper to meB
-
Day after day I have kept watch for theeB
for thee have I borne the joys and pangs of lifeA
-
All that I am that I have that I hope and all my loveC
have ever flowed towards thee in depth of secrecyB
-
One final glance from thine eyesD
and my life will be ever thine ownE
-
The flowers have been wovenF
and the garland is ready for the bridegroomG
-
After the wedding the bride shall leave her homeH
and meet her lord alone in the solitude of nightI
