The Yellow Stranger At Springs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KLKL MNMO JPJP QRQR DJDJ SBSB TUVU| One day at an idealogy shop | A |
| I met a man selling cats | B |
| For money he wanted to swap | A |
| But I really wanted some bats | B |
| - | |
| Got any bats asked I | C |
| For that's how I'll spend my money | D |
| No bats here said the guy | C |
| He seemed to find it quite funny | D |
| - | |
| We've got some lovely pies | E |
| I'll give you a very fine price | F |
| I'd rather have some rise | E |
| The man blinked rapidly thrice | F |
| - | |
| The man seemed exceptionally impatient | G |
| And his manner was strangely amused | H |
| He wasn't what I would call abortifacient | G |
| Great disdain he noticeably oozed | H |
| - | |
| Like others he thought I was odd | I |
| Some say I'm a bit yellow | J |
| Still he gave me a courteous nod | I |
| As if he thought I was plenty mellow | J |
| - | |
| So in search of my goal I departed | K |
| But before the idealogy shop could I leave | L |
| The man came running full hearted | K |
| I can help you I believe | L |
| - | |
| Cats bats you shall find | M |
| Pies rise you can get | N |
| You must now open your mind | M |
| And get down to Springs Market | O |
| - | |
| So to Springs Market I decided to go | J |
| In search of the bats I craved | P |
| The winds it did eerily blow | J |
| But I felt that the day could be saved | P |
| - | |
| There were stalls selling rings | Q |
| Marbles in many shades | R |
| There were even stalls selling dings | Q |
| People were scattered from many trades | R |
| - | |
| I was greeted by a peculiar lady | D |
| She seemed to be rather yellow | J |
| I couldn't help thinking she might be quite shady | D |
| I wondered if she was at all mellow | J |
| - | |
| Before I could open my mouth | S |
| She shouted For you I have some bats | B |
| I headed towards her to the south | S |
| Past some pies and cats | B |
| - | |
| But how did you know I asked | T |
| Do you want them or not she did say | U |
| Silently the bats she passed | V |
| Then vanished before I could pay | U |
