Whose monkey is that I think I knowA
Its owner is quite sad thoughA
It really is a tale of woeA
I watch her frown I cry helloA

She gives her monkey a shakeB
And sobs until the tears makeB
The only other sound's the breakB
Of distant waves and birds awakeB
-
The monkey is cheerful funny and deepC
But she has promises to keepC
Until then she shall not sleepC
She lies in bed with ducts that weepC

She rises from her bitter bedD
With thoughts of sadness in her headD
She idolises being deadD
Facing the day with never ending dreadD
