Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIK LMLM NONP QRQR STST DJDK UBUB VWXW YYOne day at a gangsters shop | A |
I met a man selling cats | B |
For money he wanted to swap | A |
But I really wanted some bats | B |
- | |
Got any bats asked I | C |
For that's how I'll spend my money | D |
No bats here said the guy | C |
He seemed to find it quite funny | D |
- | |
We've got some lovely tights | E |
I'll give you a very fine price | F |
I'd rather have some urbanites | E |
The man blinked rapidly thrice | F |
- | |
The man seemed exceptionally hyperactive | G |
And his manner was strangely amused | H |
He wasn't what I would call active | G |
Great disdain he noticeably oozed | H |
- | |
Like others he thought I was odd | I |
Some say I'm a bit tall | J |
Still he gave me a courteous nod | I |
As if he thought I was plenty cool | K |
- | |
So in search of my goal I departed | L |
But before the gangsters shop could I leave | M |
The man came running full hearted | L |
I can help you I believe | M |
- | |
Cats bats you shall find | N |
Tights urbanites you can get | O |
You must now open your mind | N |
And get down to pick n pay Market | P |
- | |
So to pick n pay Market I decided to go | Q |
In search of the bats I craved | R |
The winds it did eerily blow | Q |
But I felt that the day could be saved | R |
- | |
There were stalls selling cigarettes | S |
Juice in many shades | T |
There were even stalls selling mets | S |
People were scattered from many trades | T |
- | |
I was greeted by a peculiar lady | D |
She seemed to be rather tall | J |
I couldn't help thinking she might be quite shady | D |
I wondered if she was at all cool | K |
- | |
Before I could open my mouth | U |
She shouted For you I have some bats | B |
I headed towards her to the south | U |
Past some tights and cats | B |
- | |
But how did you know I asked | V |
Do you want them or not she did say | W |
Silently the bats she passed | X |
Then vanished before I could pay | W |
- | |
As I walked away I hard a crackle | Y |
Or was it perhaps a hushed cackle | Y |
