Astrophel And Stella - Sonnet Cx Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFDD D

Leaue me O loue which reachest but to dustA
And thou my mind aspire to higher thingsB
Grow rich in that which neuer taketh rustA
Whateuer fades but fading pleasure bringsB
Draw in thy beames and humble all thy mightC
To that sweet yoke where lasting freedomes beD
Which breakes the clowdes and opens forth the lightC
That doth both shine and giue us sight to seeD
O take fast hold let that light be thy guideE
In this small course which birth drawes out to deathF
And thinke how euill becommeth him to slideE
Who seeketh heau'n and comes of heau'nly breathF
Then farewell world thy vttermost I seeD
Eternall Loue maintaine thy life in meD
-
spendidis longum valedico nugisD
