The Dirge Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFGFH IJKLMKN IOPMQMR

Old winter was goneA
In his weakness back to the mountains hoarB
And the spring came downC
From the planet that hovers upon the shoreB
-
Where the sea of sunlight encroachesD
On the limits of wintry nightE
If the land and the air and the seaF
Rejoice not when spring approachesG
We did not rejoice in theeF
GinevraH
-
She is still she is coldI
On the bridal couchJ
One step to the white deathbedK
And one to the bierL
And one to the charnel and one oh whereM
The dark arrow fledK
In the noonN
-
Ere the sun through heaven once more has rolledI
The rats in her heartO
Will have made their nestP
And the worms be alive in her golden hairM
While the Spirit that guides the sunQ
Sits throned in his flaming chairM
She shall sleepR
