Mutability Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGF

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moonA
How restlessly they speed and gleam and quiverB
Streaking the darkness radiantly yet soonA
Night closes round and they are lost for everB
-
Or like forgotten lyres whose dissonant stringsC
Give various response to each varying blastD
To whose frail frame no second motion bringsC
One mood or modulation like the lastD
-
We rest A dream has power to poison sleepE
We rise One wandering thought pollutes the dayF
We feel conceive or reason laugh or weepE
Embrace fond woe or cast our cares awayF
-
It is the same For be it joy or sorrowG
The path of its departure still is freeH
Man's yesterday may ne'er be like his morrowG
Nought may endure but MutabliltyF
