Lift Not The Painted Veil Which Those Who Live Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCDEFEGGEHE

Lift not the painted veil which those who liveA
Call Life though unreal shapes be pictured thereB
And it but mimic all we would believeC
With colours idly spread behind lurk FearD
And Hope twin Destinies who ever weaveC
Their shadows o'er the chasm sightless and drearD
I knew one who had lifted it he soughtE
For his lost heart was tender things to loveF
But found them not alas nor was there aughtE
The world contains the which he could approveG
Through the unheeding many he did moveG
A splendour among shadows a bright blotE
Upon this gloomy scene a Spirit that stroveH
For truth and like the Preacher found it notE
