Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBBE FGGHHIIJKKLL MNOH AAPPJJ

Daughters of Jove whose voice is melodyA
Muses who know and rule all minstrelsyB
Sing the wide winged Moon Around the earthC
From her immortal head in Heaven shot forthD
Far light is scattered boundless glory springsB
Where er she spreads her many beaming wingsB
The lampless air glows round her golden crownE
-
But when the Moon divine from Heaven is goneF
Under the sea her beams within abideG
Till bathing her bright limbs in Ocean s tideG
Clothing her form in garments glittering farH
And having yoked to her immortal carH
The beam invested steeds whose necks on highI
Curve back she drives to a remoter skyI
A western Crescent borne impetuouslyJ
Then is made full the circle of her lightK
And as she grows her beams more bright and brightK
Are poured from Heaven where she is hovering thenL
A wonder and a sign to mortal menL
-
The Son of Saturn with this glorious PowerM
Mingled in love and sleep to whom she boreN
Pandeia a bright maid of beauty rareO
Among the Gods whose lives eternal areH
-
Hail Queen great Moon white armed DivinityA
Fair haired and favourable thus with theeA
My song beginning by its music sweetP
Shall make immortal many a glorious featP
Of demigods with lovely lips so wellJ
Which minstrels servants of the Muses tellJ
