England In 1819 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACACDEDEDDEE

An old mad blind despised and dying kingA
Princes the dregs of their dull race whoB
Through public scorn mud from a muddy springA
Rulers who neither see nor feel nor knowC
But leech like to their fainting country clingA
Till they drop blind in blood without a blowC
A people starved and stabbed in the untilled fieldD
An army which liberticide and preyE
Makes as a two edged sword to all who wieldD
Golden and sanguine laws which tempt and slayE
Religion Christless Godless a book sealedD
A Senate Time's worst statute unrepealedD
Are graves from which a glorious Phantom mayE
Burst to illumine our tempestuous dayE
