Bigotry's Victim Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCCDDAE AFGHIGDDJJ AKCKCCDDLL MNENEEOOAA

IA
Dares the lama most fleet of the sons of the windB
The lion to rouse from his skull covered lairC
When the tiger approaches can the fast fleeting hindB
Repose trust in his footsteps of airC
No Abandoned he sinks in a trance of despairC
The monster transfixes his preyD
On the sand flows his life blood awayD
Whilst India's rocks to his death yells replyA
Protracting the horrible harmonyE
-
IIA
Yet the fowl of the desert when danger encroachesF
Dares fearless to perish defending her broodG
Though the fiercest of cloud piercing tyrants approachesH
Thirsting ay thirsting for bloodI
And demands like mankind his brother for foodG
Yet more lenient more gentle than theyD
For hunger not glory the preyD
Must perish Revenge does not howl in the deadJ
Nor ambition with fame crown the murderer s headJ
-
IIIA
Though weak as the lama that bounds on the mountainsK
And endued not with fast fleeting footsteps of airC
Yet yet will I draw from the purest of fountainsK
Though a fiercer than tiger is thereC
Though more dreadful than death it scatters despairC
Though its shadow eclipses the dayD
And the darkness of deepest dismayD
Spreads the influence of soul chilling terror aroundL
And lowers on the corpses that rot on the groundL
-
IVM
They came to the fountain to draw from its streamN
Waves too pure too celestial for mortals to seeE
They bathed for awhile in its silvery beamN
Then perished and perished like meE
For in vain from the grasp of the Bigot I fleeE
The most tenderly loved of my soulO
Are slaves to his hated controlO
He pursues me he blasts me 'Tis in vain that I flyA
What remains but to curse him to curse him and dieA
