| How silent be the shaded bowers | C |
| That oft times sang to swaying flowers | C |
| Or braided woven curling vine | D |
| That sleeps amid the noonday shine | D |
| Gone the deserted shore with shells arrayed | E |
| Where ghosts of plovers safely wade | E |
| No winsome nymph of golden tresses | F |
| Who shyly to her beau confesses | F |
| With dewy eyes of adoration | G |
| Undying love and dedication | G |
| He knows my strength and limitations | H |
| And therefore limits my frustrations | H |
| My quill dried of ink and starved of paper | I |

| Total love and consideration | G |
| So hush my quill in patience lay | K |
