Two wooden legs and one wheel
That has stood the test of time
Now sit dormant by the garden shed
Bones too brittle to grasp and lift
Loads, too numerous to mention
A lifetime of graft now passed.

Poet's note: Gazing out at the old wheelbarrow that belonged to my grandfather took me back to childhood. He used to sit me in this wheelbarrow after his work was done and we'd both laugh as he ran over the small bumps of the lawn. Other times I would watch him humping and heaving and how that wheelbarrow didn't collapse I'll never know.
Happy times.
