the gardens of Babylon become shimmering in the sunA
this vulgar displayI
this sheer ostentationA

Such are the waters of the rich I now approachJ
Peach gold fabulous wealthK
More men of substance hereL
than all the proverbial luxury since antiquityM
talents ingots ducats barsH
so heavily encrusted with gemsH
the very floor boards groanN
with the largesseH

Never a Buddha's toothO
Pierpont schemeP
crownQ
or outstretched fingerR
did circumnavigateS
more treasureR
than this eyeT
swelling aroundU
that one treasure chest procuredV
Like a ship glutting the Spanish MainD
my treasure shipW
she vies with meM
my memoriesH
Midas' goldX
or Krupp's iron wealth securedV
all of which is a ransomY
parleying against the crowned heads of this worldZ
