The Gathering Of Dead Wood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE CFCGHIJKK LKMN

The gathering of dead wood drivenA
pinched in faces betweenB
the strain of Van Gogh's settingC
had all the more realismD
hastening down that leaden streetE
-
Churning sockets burdened with the duress of sufferingC
the street in vigorous winterF
raced like a bootblackC
up from the river Hedged byG
black stems called trees rowsH
of withered houses and dim bread shopsI
propositioned rough headlightsJ
along a promenade of ice stalksK
and careening streetlampsK
-
Fast in the coldL
faces were juggernautsK
skating treacherouslyM
over the pond of that closed cityN
