Now that's splendour that's in depth feelingH
That's emotion to pull your socks or catch the bus onJ
a brittle dayK

It's easy Try to feel the event It's People areL
perturbed or so we are told because the century'sM
getting old Time's rushing by There's an alarm clockN
set to buzz at eternity's gate MidnightO

In probing the malaise that hit Europe circaF
psychologists would have us believe the world grewP
despondent Despondent because a whole hundredQ
year cycle was about to elapse despondent becauseR
life itself was running out Those poor EdwardiansR
Poor lovers of the elegant the late Victorians belleS
epoquers A penny for their thoughts whenT
confronting a Picasso without the vantage ofU

If Europe and its child bride America grew uneasy inV
the declining years of the past century How then ourW
era These same psychologists pinpoint people'sR
spirits rise in the opening years of a new centuryX
Now we're poised for the really big one theF
cataclysm What a boon for the absurdists PeachesR

culmination of tenT
