Palais Royale Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGBHI BD JC

The night cold as nuggets dark as acornA
against your chest snow fallingB
like abandoned echoes releasing energyC
into the spyglass umbrella moonD
-
A solitary figure trapping hapless sparrowsE
not in a net but with his footprintsF
doubling as dungeons against the sunG
here there rusting eavestroughs ballooningB
into avenging shadows their harpsichord voicesH
spun on dreams Dick Whittington once used to buy a catI
-
And once Tom Thumb Upstaged Peter Pan by appearingB
under a petunia but this is not likely to happen soonD
-
The dawn forlorn grey is a court muffin's handkerchiefJ
waved at a sailor far out at seaC
