Investiture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD CEFG HIJKLG MNO PAIQ RSTU

Our nights have cruel eyesA
And have cast us about too thinlyB
Fallen upon usC
Divested the attention of the windD
-
Night comes to develop usC
Will polish our minds withE
A precision lasting 'til daybreakF
Its damp coolness peaks with wretched effectG
-
Autumnal decayH
Whereby the slow process of vegetationI
Displeases the nostrilJ
Is but a preamble to greater violenceK
Leading tepid legislation in an orchestraL
Toward greater effectG
-
The thin harmony of our livesM
Positions no alarms wherebyN
We might use themO
-
The fabric mixture of existence nothing but investitureP
Props to heighten necessary liesA
Strains at extinctionI
The volcanic instrument life itselfQ
-
Goals are these same vehiclesR
To operate weak desiresS
Frustration defeats a goalT
That will not fitU
