Cienfuegos Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGHI JKEE EELMN

The white pin wheel of heat turns up the grasses' edgeA
Some dried plant stalks shrivelB
then melt openly into layers of fireC
It is end time for the community's Christmas treesD
-
Something akin to burnt offeringsE
reluctant souls orF
hedging captives kept aliveG
ghoulishly for some cannibal's feastH
this festival of cracklingI
-
-
They have served their purpose nowJ
Bound no faggots need be appliedK
Contumely the quiet desperation darkensE
the child's faceE
-
The headlights rain down on Christmas' debrisE
A hundred little fires as cigarette warningsE
daub the night airL
The forest of smoke canyon of the torchM
where black marauders poke the nostrilN
