The Star Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD AEACCC F

I stood one azure dusk in old AuxerreA
Before the grey Cathedral's towering heightB
And in the Eastern darkness very fairA
I saw a little star that twinkled brightB
How small it looked beside the mighty pileC
Whose stone was rosy with the Western glowD
A little star I pondered for a whileC
And then the solemn truth began to knowD
-
That tiny star was some enormous sphereA
The great cathedral was an atomyE
So often when grey trouble looms so nearA
That God shines in our minds but distantlyC
If we but thought our grief would seem so smallC
That we would see that God's great love was allC
