A Fallen Leaf Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDEE F

When Death has crossed my name from out the rollA
Of dreaming children serving in this WarB
And with these earthly eyes I gaze no moreB
Upon sweet England's grace perhaps my soulA
Will visit streets down which I used to strollA
At sunset charm d dusks when London's roarB
Like ebbing surf on some Atlantic shoreB
Would trance the ear Then may I hear no tollA
-
Of heavy bells to burden all the airC
With tuneless grief for happy will I beD
What place on earth could ever be more fairC
Than God's own presence Mourn not then for meD
Nor write I pray He gave upon my clodE
His life to England but his soul to GodE
-
Isle of SheppeyF
