I could weep many a tear | B |
The days have stolen flesh and bone | A |
And left a changeling here | C |
- | |
Four feeble bones are left to me | D |
And the basket of my breast | E |
And I am mean and ugly now | F |
As the scald flung from the nest | E |
- | |
The briars drag me at the knee | D |
The brambles go within | G |
And often do I feel him turn | H |
The old man in my skin | G |

The strength is carded from my bones | I |
The swiftness drained from me | D |
And all the living thoughts I had | J |
Are like far ships at sea | D |
