Two men of art they say were with the sonsA
Of Mil eacute a poet and a harp playerB
When Mil eacute having taken Ireland leftC
The land to his sons' rule the poet wasD
Cir and fair Cendfind was the harp playerB

The sons of Mil eacute for the kingship foughtE
Blithely with merry sounds the old poem saysF
Eber and Eremon the sons of Mil eacuteE
And when division of the land was madeE
They drew a lot for the two men of artE

With Eber who had won the Northern halfG
The Harper Cendfind went and with EremonH
The Northerner Cir the poet stayedE
And so the old Book of the Conquests saysF
The South has music and the North has loreI

To you who are both of the North and SouthJ
To you who have the music and the loreI
To you in whom Cir and Cendfind are metE
To you I bring the tale of poetryK
Left by the sons of Eber and of EremonH
