Rhyme Scheme: ABC ADEF GHHIHJKEHL MNOA

THE wellA
They come to it and takeB
Their cupful or their palmful out of itC
-
The wellA
Stones are around it and an elder bushD
Is there a high rowan tree and soE
The well is markedF
-
Who knowsG
Whence come the waters Through what passagesH
Beneath From what high torsH
Where forests are Forests dripping rainI
Branches pouring to the ground trunks barks rootsH
Letting the streamlets down through the dark earthJ
The water flows and in that secret floodK
That's called a spring that finds this little hollowE
Who knowsH
Whence come the waters that fill cup and palmL
-
Sweetheart and comrade I give youM
The waters' marches and the forest's boundN
The valley filling cloud the trees that setO
The rains beneath their roots out of this wellA
