Crows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGFBHDIJK LMNO PDQRSTDU

THEN suddenly I was aware indeedA
Of what he said and was revolving itB
How in the night crows often take to wingC
Rising from off the tree tops in DrumbarrD
And flying on I pictured what he toldE
-
The crows that shake the night damp off their wingsF
Upon the stones out yonder in the fieldsG
The first live things that we see in the morningsF
The crows that march across the fields that sitB
Upon the ash trees' branches that fly homeH
And crowd the elm tops over in DrumbarrD
The crows we look on at all hours of lightI
Growing and full and going these black beings haveJ
Another lifetimeK
-
Crows flying in the darkL
Blackness in darkness flying beings unseenM
Except by eyes that are like to their ownN
Trespassers' eyesO
-
And you old man with eyes so quick and sharpP
Who've told me of the crows my fostererD
And you old woman upon whose lap I've lainQ
When I was taken from my mother's lapR
And you young girl with looks that have come downS
From forefathers my kin ye have another lifeT
I've glimpsed it I becoming trespasserD
Blackness in darkness flying like the crowsU
