IS THIS DEMOCRACYA
-
Even in the mist of griefs and painsB
When the story shall be divulgedC
No matter whose death it shall reportD
The brave ones shall speakE
About the days and nights of dolorF
-
Our Dawn and Noon dishG
Became supperF
Sometimes were noneH
We lived on codesI
-
-
Dry leaves became our bedsJ
Cassava flour our favoriteK
Uncompleted buildings our abodesJ
We died our children took the lifeL
They died there children took the pathM
-
They came with promises travelling their lipsJ
They lifted the lamp of loveN
Gave vents to our heads and heartsJ
Was a good path to tread we thoughtO
But were foxes who undermined our constitutionH
-
They fattened themselves on liesJ
Measured their reigns with numbers of balls sacrificedP
Pools of colorful bloodQ
Lined their coats with dark currencyJ
-
And this trip their tongues ofN
Theirs of the peopleR
For the peopleR
By the peopleR
-
Again this rolled offS
-
Our cat may look at their kingT
The dog may dine with the hareF
The cat may wine with the ratU
We shall know not apartV
The elephant tusks with the cow hornsJ
-
We sat through centuries of painW
Days of agoniesJ
Gazing at their liesJ
-
We prefer when the tiger roaredX
And sent shivers down our spineY
When the hawk swooped for the mouseJ
When the dog ran after the hareF
And we for our life in awryF
-
DEMOCRACY IS OLDZ
-
If we had known him to be thisJ
We would have decollated his headA2
And play them to his childrenH
-
If we had known him to beJ
A lying impostor who had an axe to grindB2
We would have crucified himC2
And made history out of himC2
-
If we had known him to be thisJ
A pompous prig we would have butchered him into piecesJ
Which he is doing nowD2
-
If we had looked at him with our ancestors eyesJ
We would have seen the hidden fox face behind his sheep veilE2
-
We taught our hunger will be banishedF2
Our thirst will be assuagedG2
From his flowing milk of wordsJ
But nay he mocked us at our faceJ
-
We taught of him to be our MessiahJ
To proffer solution to the longed impedimentsJ
-
We taught of him to be a parkaJ
Against the tempest storm of sweetnessJ
-
Nay he made horror of human sacrificeJ
-
We taught he was of SolomonH
But not all grey hair are oldZ
-
If we had knownH2
Our thoughts to be uselessJ
A bird of ours is worth two in their bushI2
-
His wills are willed to his folksJ
Into their dead father's shoeJ2
Chip of an old blockK2
Do better than I didL2
