Brown And Agile Child Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFDC GHIJ KLMD

Brown and agile child the sun which forms the fruitA
And ripens the grain and twists the seaweedB
Has made your happy body and your luminous eyesC
And given your mouth the smile of waterD
-
A black and anguished sun is entangled in the twigsE
Of your black mane when you hold out your armsF
You play in the sun as in a tidal riverD
And it leaves two dark pools in your eyesC
-
Brown and agile child nothing draws me to youG
Everything pulls away from me here in the noonH
You are the delirious youth of beeI
The drunkedness of the wave the power of the wheatJ
-
My somber heart seeks you alwaysK
I love your happy body your rich soft voiceL
Dusky butterfly sweet and sureM
Like the wheatfiled the sun the poppy and the waterD
