Every Church Sings Its Own Soft Part Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJHK KLMN

Every church sings its own soft partA
In the polyphony of a girl's choirB
And in the stone arches of the AssumptionC
I make out high arched browsD
-
From the ramparts fortified by archangelsE
I surveyed the city from a marvelous heightF
Within the walls of the Acropolis I was consumedG
With sorrow for the Russian name for Russian beautyH
-
Isn't it just marvelous we dreamI
Of an orchard soaring pigeons in the hot blue skyJ
A nun is singing the litanyH
Tender Assumption Florence in MoscowK
-
The five domed cathedrals of MoscowK
With their Italian and Russian soulL
Bring to mind the Aurora but with aM
Russian name and in a fur coatN
