As Psyche-life Goes Down To The Shades Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKL MNEO

As Psyche Life goes down to the shadesA
In a translucent forest in Persephone's tracksB
A blind swallow falls at her feetC
With Stygian tenderness and a green branchD
-
The shades flock to meet the fugitiveE
Welcome their new visitor with lamentsF
Wring their feeble hands before herG
Bewildered and in timid hopeH
-
One holds a mirror another a phial of perfumeI
The soul is a woman fond of triflesJ
And the leafless forest is sprinkled with fine rain ofK
Laments dry transparent voicesL
-
And in the gentle confusion not knowing what to beginM
The soul does not recognize the spectral woodN
Breathes on the mirror and hesitates to giveE
The copper coin from the misty crossingO
