Portia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCBBDEBFGFHHG

To Ellen TerryA
-
I marvel not Bassanio was so boldB
To peril all he had upon the leadC
Or that proud Aragon bent low his headC
Or that Morocco's fiery heart grew coldB
For in that gorgeous dress of beaten goldB
Which is more golden than the golden sunD
No woman Veronese looked uponE
Was half so fair as thou whom I beholdB
Yet fairer when with wisdom as your shieldF
The sober suited lawyer's gown you donnedG
And would not let the laws of Venice yieldF
Antonio's heart to that accursed JewH
O Portia take my heart it is thy dueH
I think I will not quarrel with the BondG
